Turn Over of Furnitures at Upper Bicutan National High School

Last September 3, 2013, the municipality of Taguig distributed furnitures to our beloved UBNHS along with the Oath Taking of GPTA officers. This breakthrough had a big impact to the students' studies for it made them feel the amenity and perseverance to overthrow all the possible obstacles in their high school life. The chairs and tables distributed will lead the students to their success in the near future. Now, the students maybe halfway there to achieve what they all wanted, but they should always look back to the things who had been their foundation through success.
We should always remember that we should value anything we see in our nature for it will be the reason that makes us as the person we are tomorrow.

UBNHS Joins The Celebration of Sta. Anang Banak Festival 2013

"We are once again opening our gates to the whole world. Like every year, we are showcasing our rich history and colorful traditions. But most of all, we would like everyone to experience, first-hand, the warm hospitality of TaguigeƱos,"
                                                                                         Mayor Lani Cayetano

Every year, Barangay Sta. Ana celebrates the feast of Sta. Anang Banak as their way of expressing their deepest gratitude for another prosperous and bounteous year. It was believed that the festival originated from a legend in July 1857 when the citizens of the land then known as "Taga-giik" were said to have been saved by St. Anne who allured them into a river overflowing with banak fishes.

Taguig City showcased the colorful, four-centuries-old tradition on the Feast of Sta. Ana with 10-day festivities, as a part of an annual observance of a tradition that is both culturally-rich and spiritually nourishing, highlighted by a kaleidoscopic street dancing competition affiliated by public and private high schools in Taguig in honor to the patroness St. Anne last July 24, 2013.

There were 21 participants who took part in the grand street dancing competition and Upper Bicutan National High School was a partaker. The contestants, who came at 6AM along with their impressive props and fancy costumes, were associated with the SSG UBNHS and CAT officers.

For the very first time, the parliamentary procedures of the SSG meeting transpired through the gavel and the motions. These procedures had been planned long from the administration of Ashley Abalos(SSG UBNHS President 2007) and finally attained by the new administration of Debrelie. The students of Upper Bicutan National High School anticipated an advancement to the school community as they elected these officers to lead.

Annual Planning and Assessment

Preparation for the SSG Annual Planning, Assessment and Team Building

The 3-day 'Dare, Dream, Believe, Do of SSG UBNHS-Assessment and Planning 2013' had been launched last April 16, 17, and 18, held in rooms 107 and 108 by the SSG UBNHS Planning Steering Committee. This Planning served as an upbringing for the Supreme Student Government of 2013-2014.

Day 1: The program had been started with the secretariat John Mark Toribio and animation by Jonel Navidad then followed with the opening remarks conducted by Marisol Nuqui and Brian James Villafuerte. Everyone's expectations of  the organization for the whole year and their commitments to their undertaking were tackled in the Expectation and Commitment setting led by Jonel and Wynclef Enerio.
The first Talk, titled "My Directions in Life", was given by Mr. Dhon Bitara Jr., a successful manager, in which he elaborated how to be effective leaders, the effects of actions to the futurity and had given tactics in living life cleverly for a better future.(below)

The participants then were full of excitement when the Amazing Race started. Their skills were tested in the first segment of the game where they must find a way to make the designated persons laugh. In the second segment, one member of the team must memorize a passage given and supply the missing words on a chart. 4 Pics 1 Word was the third segment and last was the Longest Line where the players lined up all the things they had with them to reach the finish line.(below)

Day 2: Rhea Pesado, the SSG UBNHS President S.Y. 2011-2012, tackled "A Bird's Eyeview of the SSG Constitution and By Laws wherein she unriddled and explained each constitution and law for the participants.(below)

"Talk 2: triumph in Life" was lectured by Mrs. Reychelle Cortez and she conducted a sharing in which each of the participants shared his/her worst problem and had expressed it with intense feelings.(below)

Mr. Bitara then informed everyone about the Fish Bone Analysis and had asked them to make their own analysis of the possible causes of a failure of the organization.

Day 3: The SSG alumni had given speeches to the succeeding SSG of UBNHS and their SWOT(Strength, Weakness, Opportunities, Threats) analyses based in the capacity of the late administration.(below)

Subsequently, the SSG were challenged with a task given: to construct a presentation with the song Piliin Mo Ang Pilipinas within an hour. The alumni and SSG advisers were impressed with their ability to create a presentation given a short period of time.

UBNHS SSG "Piliin Mo Ang Pilipinas"

The SSG brainstormed, conceptualized, and submitted their detailed plans for the incoming school year 2013-2014. At the end of the three days planning, the officers and heads of the different support teams pledged their commitment, their abilities and capacities to make those plans a reality.
